Yes, a written letter!

First letter! I can't believe how good it feels to have proof Elder Armatage is alive and doing well! LOL   He says "It's sweet here, way fun" and he enjoys his district. He promises he will write a better letter in email next week. I wonder when that will be since he didn't tell us what day he can do that. But he is happy and loves us and that makes all the difference in the world. We love you Elder Armatage!!

On Wednesday, January 16th we headed down to Provo along with Kyle's friend Brian Arbuckle. We stopped to eat at the Brick Oven, missionaries get a free meal and we all enjoyed our meal there. Lorelai was clinging to her Uncle Kyle and at one point thought we were driving him to Mesa Arizona ourselves. Now she knows he is at the MTC (or as she says Empty C) learning about being a missionary. After eating we had a few minutes before our time for drop-off and we stopped in front of the fence by the Provo Temple for a couple pictures.
Kyle was getting more and more excited, but also still nervous as the time got closer - 12:30.
Then we drove up to the MTC and could see all the missionaries waiting for the new missionaries all along the sidewalk out in the cold.  They were waving and smiling as we drove by and stopped behind the car in front of us. We all piled out, gave hugs, had a few tears and then watched Elder Armatage walk away down the sidewalk off to his new adventure.
What was funny when the hostess missionary came over to greet Kyle, Kyle said "OK Elder brother, let's do this" (after all the quick hugs). He was ready, he will be fine.
Then we had the drive home. Arriving home finally brought the tears flowing, which kept coming back all day long. But we are so proud of our Elder and cannot wait to hear from him to see how it is all going. We know he is going to be a great missionary and he will be a great influence on those who he will come in contact with. We love you so much Elder Kyle. We will be praying always for you!

It is only 4 days now until we take Kyle to the MTC. It is so hard to believe! We enjoyed his Sacrament meeting talk on December 30th and loved seeing so many people there who know and support and love him. We cannot thank you all enough for all you have done for our son! It was so much fun to visit here in our home with all that were able to make it here.

So many mixed emotions, but we know Kyle has made the right choice to serve a mission and share the gospel. We love him and are so proud of him.
