It was Wednesday, November 21, 2012 (the day before Thanksgiving) when the "letter" finally arrived!
With many friends and family in the room, Kyle opened it and began to read. He hands were shaking.
He read almost the entire page and it never said anything about where he was going. He went back to the envelope and a single page was still inside. Again he began to read:
Dear Elder Armatage, You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the Arizona Mesa Mission.

Wow, Arizona! That was quite a shock, relief that he will be in the United Stated, but wow so close. But as the days have gone by, we know that Kyle has been called to serve in this mission for a reason, this is where the Lord wants him to be. We are so proud of you Elder Armatage and love you!

  1. Yay! Now we know! I was on the telephone at the exact time that he opened his "letter" so I could hear it all, the reading of the letter and the shouts of everyone there - I felt a part of it all. I am so proud of my grandson and know that he was meant to serve there in Mesa - he was called there for a reason and he will serve faithfully. I love you Kyle, Grandma R.
